"The Covington Carols"

"The Covington Carols" is the latest cantata by Alexis Renee Ward and will be premiered by the music ministry of First Presbyterian Church of Covington on the 3rd week of Advent. This multi-movement work features familiar Christmas tunes and texts such as "Twas in the Moon of Wintertime", "Rise Up Shepherd and Follow", "Break Forth, O Beauteous, Heavenly Light", "While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks By Night", and more. The work is set for SATB choir, bell choir, instrumental ensemble, soprano soloist, and baritone soloist.

This will be the second performance of "i carry your heart" since its original premiere in October. The performance will take place at Sacred Heart Oratory as a part of the concert "Bach to the Future" featuring Westminster Choir College's Kantorei and the Choir School of Delaware. Commissioned for the wedding of Arreon Harley and Thomas Emerson, this poem by e.e. cummings will be set for SATB a cappella chorus and soprano soloist. The premiere will take place during the wedding ceremony at the historic Christ Church Christiana Hundred by the Cathedral Choir School of Delaware under the direction of Jack Burnam.

This performance of "La Prière du Seigneur" will be featured on the Choir School of Delaware Pro Series concert, "Adam's Rib: Exploring Music Made Possible By Women". This will also be the first performance of the baritone setting of this piece. Originally written for tenor solo and piano, this French setting of "The Lord's Prayer" was dedicated to those who lost their lives during the terror attack in France on November 13th, 2015.

"Through the Eyes of the Doubter"

This brand new eleven-movement work for choir, narrator, soloists, and orchestra will be premiered at the South Campus of Greensboro FUMC. The piece was composed for the Greensboro Chamber Choir and was recently featured in a workshop with the choir and with grammy award winning conductor, Charles Bruffy. "Through the Eyes of the Doubter" is just under an hour long and follows the story of Easter as told through the eyes of the apostle Thomas.
